Executive Chef Christopher Carey
Chris Carey has been the executive chef at the Traverse City Country Club since 2008. He graduated from Central Michigan University and Schoolcraft College’s highly acclaimed Culinary Arts program. He began his career the Detroit Athletic Club in 1985, and has moved up the ladder to positions of increasing responsibility since then. Most recently he was the Executive Chef at Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, and prior to that he spent seven years as the Executive Chef at the Union Club of Cleveland. Chris also has experience as a pastry chef and supervisor at Walnut Hills Country Club in South Lyon, MI, for four years.
Chef Carey has developed wonderful a la carte dining menus for the The Club and offers new lunch and dinner specials each week. His special event buffets are simply spectacular and our members thoroughly enjoy his culinary creations. Chris also enjoys working with members to plan their special events, and provides expert advice and execution with a personal touch.
